I've recently finished recording a new 16-movement piece I wrote for the members of Mind's Eye and five guest instrumentalists
(violin, viola, cello, trombone, and alto sax). The music, an ecclectic mix of jazz and classical styles, was commissioned
by Linda Nemec-Foster, Grand Rapids' first poet laureate. She asked me to write the piece as a companion to her poem cycle,
"Contemplating the Heavens." The CD, "Contemplating the Heavens," is finally here! If you get a chance,
go to CDBaby.com to audition it and tell me what you think.
The members of Mind's Eye are thrilled to have been asked to compose and perform music for the grand opening of a community
enrichment center known as WMCAT. Click the link below for more info.

A shot from the 2004 Aquinas College Summer Jazz
Camp

Hard at work!
Or should I say, hardly working? This was taken during the faculty
concert at the 2004 Aquinas College Summer Jazz Camp. My good friend Paul Smith took the pic. Paul's also a great
drummer I have the pleasure of working with sometimes.
